Aalborg Symphony Orchestra
Aalborg Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1943 as Aalborg's City Orchestra and today it employs 65 musicians. Aalborg Symphony Orchestra is placed in the new House of Music (Musikkens Hus) which has also become their performance venue.
The focal point of the orchestra is the numerous symphony concerts which often presents different elite soloists and conductors from all over the world. Additionally, the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra perform chamber concerts, concerts with pedagogical content at school and other institutions, concerts in cooperation with cultural institutions and public concerts for the entire family.
Aalborg Symphony Orchestra also accompanies the Royal Danish Ballet, Theater and Opera when touring in Jutland, and has received the nickname “The Royal Provincial Orchestra”.
You might also find the orchestra playing internationally in e.g. Germany, France, Switzerland, Norway and Sweden.
