In keeping with tradition the annually recurring Christmas parade, followed by extended opening hours in the stores, will take place in Aarhus the 11th of November. The Christmas parade is a sure sign that Christmas has come to town, and the streets are invariably abuzz with people. The parade passes through the central parts of the city, also wending its colourful way along the pedestrianised high street 'Strøget'. The shops celebrate this annually recurring parade by staying open until 9 o'clock in the evening, you will therefore have plenty of time to do your first christmas shopping.
The Christmas lights will be lid
The Christmas parade sets off from the harbour at DOKK1 at 6 p.m. and will make the way down towards the pedestrianised high street 'Strøget' were Santa Claus will light the starry sky above the street. It is a beloved tradition that marks the return of christmas year by year.

The parade will set off from DOKK1 at the harbour at 6. p.m. were we will meet and great Santa Claus. The parade will run through the city center on the following route:
Start --> DOKK1 at Hack Kampmanns Plads > Banegårdspladsen > Ryesgade, Strøget > Store Torv > Lille Torv > Busgaden > Frederiksgade > DOKK1 --> End of the parade
