The town's new landmark, the charming bronze sculpture Hippo Ballerina, has finally found its home in the town square. Thanks to the hard work and generous contributions of locals and art lovers alike, the sculpture can now be enjoyed by all.
Celebration with speeches and refreshments
On Tuesday 17 December at 14:00, you and your family are invited to a celebration on the square. The artist behind the work, Bjørn Okholm Skaarup, will give a speech and refreshments will be served from Værtshuset Dybendal.
A gift to Rudkøbing
After a year of fundraising and challenges, the dream became a reality. The artist, who has roots on Langeland, contributed a price reduction as a gift to her native island. Now she stands here - Hippo Ballerina - as a symbol of the city's commitment and love for art.
