The books about ‘Sally’s Dad’ have brought smiles and laughter to countless families over the years. Now, you and your family have the chance to see it come to life on stage as ‘Sally’s Dad’ takes over Team Teatret in Herning on January 18, 2025.
The play, produced by Louise Schouw Teater, is based on the popular books and brings back beloved characters like Sally, her funny little brother Eddie, her friend Svend, and of course, her unique dad, who isn’t like other fathers.
Sally’s dad is famously embarrassing – whether he’s trying to become a YouTuber or deciding he’s tired of being an adult, so he and Sally swap roles. He’s also a terrible sport and becomes childlike when he catches the “man flu,” leaving Sally to care for him with cookies and cocoa. But one thing is certain: Sally’s dad is anything but boring!
Packed with new songs composed by Sigurd Barrett and Eskild Dohn, the show combines humor and warmth in a family experience that will touch everyone – both in their funny bones and their hearts. Beneath dad’s silly antics, there are meaningful messages that will resonate with both kids and adults.
The show is based on Thomas Brunstrøm and Thorbjørn Christoffersen’s books about ‘Sally’s Dad,’ published by Forlaget Carlsen – a huge hit among Danish families who can’t get enough of the hilarious stories about Sally, Eddie, and their one-of-a-kind dad.
