Snaptun Havne- og Muslingefest

The cosy harbour and marina in Snaptun is transformed into a festive party and buffet with free clams once a year in a maritime setting at Horsens Fjord.

Clams ad libitum

The traditional clam eating festival in Snaptun is well-known in East Jutland as a cosy event for everyone. The big attraction is the big buffet with 2,5 tons of clams cooked with white wine and spices and served with baguette. The free clams are a delicious bait for the party that attracts 2000 guests every year.

There is room for everyone at the festival, and focus is on creating a cosy atmosphere. The clam enthusiast can bring his family or friends for some quality time with lots of shellfish and entertainment. In the beer tent you can buy beer, wine and water and support the local sports club, Sportssammenslutningen Skjold, in the process.

During the afternoon, there will be lots of entertainment including live music. And after 3:30 pm you can stay for the afterparty in the beer tent.

Always in week 27

The clam eating festival always takes place in week 27, starting at lunch time. During the week, other activities are organized. Wednesday, you can come along for a hike in the forest near Snaptun, and Thursday you can take part in bingo in the gymnasium in Glud (Glud Hallen).

You do not have to sign up for the events. All you have to do is show up.
