BBQ Seafood Championship – Løkken: A New Culinary Tradition at Løkken Pier

Løkken has always had close ties to the sea, fishing, and outstanding local produce. That is why Løkken Pier Festival 2026 is proud to present the very first BBQ Seafood Championship – Løkken.

Food enthusiasts, families, friends, businesses, and associations come together for an entertaining competition where fish and seafood take centre stage. Visitors can follow the teams up close throughout the entire process—from selecting ingredients to presenting the finished dish.

Date: August 30, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Nørregade 9, 9480 Løkken

Competition Format

All teams must use fish and/or seafood as the main ingredient.

Each team will present a finished dish, which will be judged on:

• Taste
• Creativity
• Preparation
• Presentation
• Use of ingredients

The teams are free to decide how to compose their dish, as long as fish or seafood remains the primary focus.

Who Can Participate?

The competition is open to everyone.

• 4 participants per team
• Participants must be at least 12 years old
• Each team chooses its own team name

Whether you are a professional chef, a barbecue enthusiast, or simply enjoy cooking, everyone is welcome. The most important ingredients are enthusiasm and team spirit.

The final competition rules and ingredient requirements will be announced before the event.

The Jury

The dishes will be evaluated by a jury consisting of culinary professionals and well-known local personalities.

People's Choice Award

The audience plays an important role in the competition.

A special People's Choice Award will be presented based on:

• Team spirit
• Creativity
• Collaboration

• Visual appearance of the dish

Event Director

The competition is organized by Martin Mygdam of Myggens, founder and event director of the BBQ Seafood Championship – Løkken.

Together with local partners, he is working to establish a new tradition within the Løkken Pier Festival, where gastronomy, local ingredients, and community come together.
