Sheep Day at Hjerl Hede Open-Air Museum

Sheep Day is an annual event where Danish sheep breeders present their animals and share their passion for sheep farming.

At Hjerl Hede Open-Air Museum, visitors can experience sheep and lambs of the Danish landrace. Once widespread across Denmark, the breed survived mainly in the harsh dune landscapes of West Jutland.

The Danish landrace is known for its resilience and ability to thrive in a challenging climate and on poor soils.
