Explore The Southern Loop of the Gravlev Ådal Route – a shorter version of the 11.8 km Gravlev Ådal Route, rated as one of Denmark’s best hiking routes.

The route starts at Rebildcentret, where you will also find Thingbæk Limestone Mines, and takes you through an area rich in nature, geology and cultural history. Along the way, you pass Skillingbro Undervejsbro – a unique experience where you walk underground, yet above the water.

The route also takes you across the landscape above REGAN Vest and its two bunkers, with Cold War history hidden beneath your feet. This varied hike combines beautiful surroundings with fascinating stories – all within a distance that is ideal if you are looking for a shorter walk with plenty to experience.

Certified hiking route

The full Gravlev Ådal Route is certified as a Premium Hiking Route by the German Hiking Institute (Deutsches Wanderinstitut) and has been awarded the Wandersiegel quality seal for hiking routes offering an exceptionally high-quality experience. The certification highlights, among other things, the route’s variety, waymarking, distance information, information boards and facilities at Skillingbro Naturskole.

The German Hiking Institute is behind one of Europe’s most widely used and rigorous quality systems for hiking routes. The certification is therefore a strong indication that the route has been designed with a focus on nature experiences, safety and high quality.
