Silent Hour: Art on tiptoes
Experience the museum in a whole new way when you are invited to Silent Hour – a quiet hour of contemplation, tranquillity and space to experience art without distractions.
On the first Sunday of every month, from 9 to 10 a.m., the Silent Hour takes place, during which the museum can be experienced in complete silence. This hour focuses on tranquillity, presence and contemplation, allowing visitors to experience the exhibitions without being distracted by conversations, telephones and other noises.
During Silent Hour, guests move through the museum with their phones on silent, and jackets, bags, shoes – and conversations – are left in the cloakroom. The experience takes place in silence and on tiptoes, offering the opportunity to linger longer with the works and experience them with heightened attention.
After Silent Hour, Brasserie Kunsten opens at 10 a.m., where you can enjoy a breakfast roll or brunch and reflect on the experience. The museum shop also opens at 10 a.m., and KunstLab opens as usual at 11 a.m.
A special museum experience for anyone seeking tranquillity, immersion and a slightly different start to the day.
