Autumn Holiday at the Funen Village

The last crops from the fields are harvested and transformed into food and supplies at The Funen Village, where preparations for the coming winter are in full swing.

During the autumn holidays, food and community take center stage, bringing hope and action. Drawing inspiration and practical advice from both past and present, efforts are made to reduce food waste. Supplies for the winter are gathered from the fields, while food from the fridge is saved from being thrown away.

Visitors have the chance to dig up their own potatoes, which they can take home. There's something special about the taste when you've harvested them yourself.

You can also pick an organic beet and carve it into a traditional beet man, just like in the old days. It makes a charming decoration, perhaps for your porch at home.

On Tuesday, one of the village's pigs will be slaughtered to ensure provisions for the long winter. Throughout the process, the butcher and the village farmers will explain each step.

The village is dressed in stunning autumn colors, inviting visitors to enjoy peaceful walks and outdoor activities.
