Bringstrup Forest
- a great place to explore
Do you know the small forest “behind” Bringstrup school?
A little south of the village of Bringstrup, where Bringstrup school is located, a small forest of 9.5 hectares has been established. The forest was planted on the initiative of the Bringstrup Parish Council in 1999.
The forest mainly consists of deciduous trees. In particular, it is deciduous trees that are naturally native to Denmark that have been planted here. This means that these are tree species that have migrated to Denmark after the last Ice Age. They are well adapted to the Danish climate.
Inside the forest, there is a larger clearing, and adjacent to it, there is also a lake. There are several different paths leading around the forest. The GPS-measured path of 1.3 km is one of several options.
Here’s how to find your way to Bringstrup forest:
From Ringsted: Turn right onto Bringstrupvej (there is a right turn lane).
From Sorø: Turn left onto Bringstrupvej.
There is a signpost on Sorøvej. Parking is available in the parking lot just east of the church. Outside of school hours, parking is also allowed in the Bringstrup school parking lot in front of the school.
