Hjertestien i Ådalen

River area in FrederikssundEver since the Viking era have Sillebro Å given important fresh water to the nearby village Udesundby, which for over 100 years ago, was absorbed by the market town Frederikssund. Udesundby Church is just about the only thing that remains from the time since the Middle Ages gave the stream option for a wind turbine company, a watermill, which originally stood near the place, the cinema is located today. The water mill was abandoned in the 1830s and replaced by a Dutch windmill on the close-lying Mill Hill. The river had in earlier times a very different sinuous course. It was for many years the city's southern frontier, where it ran into the bay close to the western side of Railway Street / Roskildevej.A piece of inland river formed the boundary between Out and Up Sundby parish. Farther into the country was also the border with Sundby Lille. Over time, urban development confined valley.
