The lighthouse's birthday
On Saturday, December 27, Boxing Day, Rubjerg Knude lighthouse will celebrate its 125th birthday. For many years, it has been a tradition to mark the birthday with a walk. A welcome opportunity for some good exercise for the whole family with a walk in the beautiful landscape, on top of some homely Christmas days with all that good food and treats.
The lighthouse was moved to a new location in 2019 and can therefore continue to bear witness to the great forces of nature that regularly move around the sand and make it possible to experience the great dynamics that exist in nature.
To mark the day, we will light candles at the top of the lighthouse.
Please bring your own lantern or bat lantern, as the organizers, Lønstrup Tourist Association and Vendsyssel Historical Museum, encourage you to do so.
The tour starts at 15 from the new parking lot at Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse, Rubjergvej 100. After a walk in the area, the tour ends at a dune near the lighthouse, where hot soup is served as the daylight fades.
Here, singer and musician Linda Drejer Bonde will play a few songs.
There is a fee of 50 kr. to participate in the tour, but it is free for children. Everyone is welcome.
