Strik på 1'ste - Knitting museum

Denmark’s only knitting museum – a creative space filled with history, design, and a deep love of yarn.

Located on the first floor of a listed 1846 building in Stubbekøbing, STRIK på 1’ste is Denmark’s one-of-a-kind knitting museum – a celebration of craft, culture, and creativity through yarn.

Visitors can explore a rich collection of historical knitwear alongside annual special exhibitions ranging from rural tradition to contemporary knit design. Four themed rooms offer an inspiring journey through knitting history, and a cozy reading corner invites guests to browse old and new books and magazines.

Whether you're a passionate knitter or simply curious about high-quality craftsmanship and design, STRIK på 1’ste offers an immersive and thoughtful experience.

Part of the Stubbekøbing City and Local Museum, the knitting museum is run by dedicated volunteers and enthusiasts. Guided group tours are available during the season, with hosts eager to share their knowledge and love of the craft.
