The church tower and porch are late Gothic, while the original beam ceilings in the nave and chancel were replaced by cross vaults, one in the chancel, three in the nave, and the tower vault, thus forming a unified church interior.

The porch is the church's original entrance portal, consisting of two large granite stones with a lintel carved at the edge, probably by master stonemason Horder, who also crafted the baptismal font in the characteristic Djursland style.

On the outside, at the south-east corner of the nave, there is a picture block depicting a man's head. Inside the church, up in the choir, there is an internal hole in the wall, which was originally simply closed with a gate. Through this gate, the lepers received communion.
