The NorthSide music festival in the centre of Aarhus has quickly become one of Europe’s best music festivals, attracting some of the biggest names. Combine a trip to Denmark’s second city with the sights and sounds of NorthSide this summer.

Heartland Festival is a weekend experience of music, art, talks and food, located in the stunning surroundings of Egeskov Castle and Gardens in Denmark, less than two hours’ drive from Copenhagen.

Tinderbox is one of the newer additions to the music festival scene in Denmark, but it has already become one of the country's most respected music festivals. Thousands of music fans make their way to Odense in the end of June to see a mix of international stars and local artists across three thrilling days. 

Stella Polaris is one of the world's largest free electronica festivals. It takes place each summer, touring different cities in Denmark and features international names and Danish acts.

Musik i Lejet is a three days festival with music, dancing, fresh ocean air, sand between your toes, sunsets and beach parties. Head to the seaside village of Tisvildeleje on the Danish Riviera, just 1 hour north of Copenhagen, but please note that tickets tend to sell out on the day the ticket sale opens in the beginning of December!

Like all good festivals, the Aarhus Jazz Festival is continually evolving and has achieved international renown. The whole city is backing the eight days of jazz and at this festival you can experience up to 230 concerts at 30 different venues.

Smukfest, also known as Skanderborg Festival or Denmark's most Beautiful Festival, is a Danish music festival that takes place every summer during the second weekend of August in the beautiful beech forest "Skanderborg Dyrehave". It can be tricky to get tickets to the festival as the Danes tend to snatch them on the day the ticket sale opens!

Copenhagen's metal festival, Copenhell, unleashes hell again this year on Refshaleøen with lots of bands, beer and a heavy programme of heavy-metal.
