Beau Marché

Bonjour! Experience a piece of France in the heart of Copenhagen and enjoy the backyard atmosphere of this little oasis that serves traditional French food in a cozy and atmospheric setting.

In a small backyard in Copenhagen's inner city, you can escape the noise and traffic and feel like a Parisian for one day. Located in Ny Østergade, close to the Latin Quarter, you'll find the interior design shop Beau Marché and its associated Café á Vins. The street is full of charming old buildings, side streets and shops - but you'll recognize this place by the French round café tables and wicker chairs out on the street.

It's owned by a group of siblings with a French background, and they don't hide this. In their own words, they have tried to recreate a piece of France in Copenhagen. The menu reflects this, of course! At the café, you can enjoy a classic French omelette with gruyère cheese, a croque Monsieur or croque Madame. You can also settle for a croissant or a cup of café au lait.

It's not just the menu that is inspired by the French. The entire café and shop tries to capture the market atmosphere you'd find in any French village. The decor is homey with rustic tables and floor-to-ceiling wine bottles. In the backyard, you can enjoy the many flowers and small trees under a parasol or in the sun, perfect for a hot summer day in Copenhagen where the sunrays take you south.

If you crave even more French, you can combine your café visit with a trip to the Beau Marché store. Here, they sell trendy, quality products from international designers. The market atmosphere is also the focus here, so if you like to shop or just browse, there are plenty of homewares to explore from furniture, lamps, vases and glassware. Au revoir!
