The stone bridge at Nymølle Bæk is a unique relic from Renaissance Denmark. The bridge was built around 1600 and was probably commissioned by the energetic noblewoman Ingeborg Skeel of Voergård (c. 1545–1604). She was known for improving the roads and infrastructure on her estates to ensure the transport of goods and taxes through the region.

The bridge is made of large, hewn granite blocks, known as ashlars, and served as a crossing for both pedestrians and heavily laden horse-drawn carts. It is located in a hilly landscape where the Hærvejen follows the valley floor along the clear Nymølle Bæk.

The area offers beautiful hiking trails (3 and 4 km), protected nature with alder swamp forests, beech forests and open meadows – and a rare tranquillity that provides a unique insight into natural and cultural history.

Access on foot via footpaths (permitted from 6 a.m. until sunset)

Parking spaces on Tværhøjvej / Nymøllevej

Dogs, cycling and horse riding are not permitted

Smoking is prohibited from 1 March to 31 October

Open fires are prohibited throughout the year
