Read the guide before you go out in the dark.
Make a pot of coffee or hot cocoa for the trip and remember to wear plenty of clothes.
Go down to the star square at Midtvej 7. From the Welcome Center Stalden, follow the path opposite and you will get there.
Turn on your headlamp to red light - it doesn't bother your eyes in the dark.
Sit down in a chair so you don't get dizzy when you look up.
Have a good trip in the dark. We hope you will return another time. Maybe in a different season, so you can experience other constellations.
Remember to return the bucket with the contents to where you received it.
A short introduction to our solar system.
In our solar system, we have our sun and 8 planets that orbit the sun. The sun is our star.
All other stars (suns) have their own solar system and are very far from ours.
We live in the Milky Way galaxy, which contains between 200 and 400 billion stars.
The 8 planets in our solar system are in order from the sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Earth is one of the 4 rocky planets in the inner solar system. Our moon orbits the earth.
In the outer solar system we have the 4 large gas planets.
The 2 outermost Uranus and Neptune we cannot see with the naked eye. Mercury is also very difficult to see.
We can often see Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn on their way around the sun.
However, their orbital period is very different and therefore we cannot write it down in a small guide, but you can try to google for yourself, e.g.: Where is Jupiter right now?
The sun moves in a certain line, the Ecliptic, across the sky and the planets always follow this line around the earth. So look for them there.
