The Museum Fiskeriets Hus
Become captain for a day!
At Fiskeriets Hus, both children and adults can come aboard the ships, gain an insight into life at sea, take on the captain’s role for a day and safely steer the crew ashore – all without any risk of seasickness.
One of the vessels is the last original example of a sea-going ship built around 170 years ago. You can also hear the story of the tragic rescue accident in which five lifeboatmen from Hvide Sande lost their lives in 1951.
Let your imagination run wild!
You can also enjoy a cosy little treasure hunt that takes you around the entire museum in search of some of the many fish and sea creatures that live in the waters near Hvide Sande.
Outside, on the harbour square in front of Fiskeriets Hus, children can let off steam at a nature playground with a maritime theme.
