Dronningholm Castle Ruin

Dronningholm near Frederiksværk was one of the country's largest castles but was ravaged by fire in 1525.

Once it was possible to sail to Queenholm, but only within the boundaries of Arresø. There has been no navigable connection to the sea.

Queenholm Castle ruins overlook Vinderød between Auderød and Brederød near Frederiksværk. It is one of the first things you see when you drive onto Arrenæs itself, which is the small peninsula that extends along Arresø. Here, where the hills meet the water, the grass-covered ramparts remain and tell of an area that has been of great significance for many years.
