Hiking on the Islands

Explore the islands' versatile terrain with a hike on Lyø, Avernakø or Bjørnø

No matter which island you visit, or if you visit all three of them, a hike on the islands is a unique experience. Walk around the island, explore the village or try an exciting tour where you can hear stories about the island monuments and the islander life in general.

Avernakø

Avernakø is a union of two islands, Avernakø and Korshavn, connected by a dam. You can walk to one end of the island and back again, a lovely 16 km walk. You can also plan your own hike around the island by listening to the 15 Island Tales located around the island.

Bjørnø

Bjørnø is a car-free island with breathtaking nature. Travel with the ferry Lillebjørn and enjoy a hike that offers beach, cliffs, hills, and fields. You can also listen to Bjørnø's 12 Island Tales that are scattered around the island.

Lyø

Lyø offers walks along the island or inside the beautiful village. You can walk to the Dolmen and follow the Love Trail back or hike around Bjerget. Lyø also has 15 Island Tales that take you around the island.
