Luddes Hus is located in the centre of Byrum on Læsø and was built in the early 1900s by master blacksmith Christian Jensen, the "Great Blacksmith". Since then, the house has had several owners, including master baker N.C.S. Thøgersen, whose son Ludvig ("Ludde") lived here until 1976.

After an extensive renovation in 1995, Læsø Municipality took over the house and initiated a co-operation with Læsø Kunstforening. The first exhibition was opened in 1996, and since then Ludde's House has been a lively exhibition centre with changing artists.

Part of the original interior has been preserved, which gives the house a special atmosphere and makes a visit a unique experience - no matter what art adorns the walls.

It is a good idea keep an eye open for the flags in front of Luddes Hus - the flags greet the public throughout the season, when Læsø Kunstforening opens the traditional house for temporary exhibitions of pictures, sculpture and handicrafts.
