A landmark in the heart of Nexø

Behind an old sandstone wall in the heart of Nexø, you will find one of the town's oldest buildings. Nexø Church has been part of the town for centuries, and its tall half-timbered tower with its distinctive onion-shaped spire is now one of Nexø's landmarks.

The church also bears witness to an important part of the town's more recent history. When Nexø was bombed in May 1945, the church was damaged but remained standing after the bombing and was later repaired.

The old cemetery surrounds the church, inviting you to explore a large collection of grave monuments worthy of preservation. Together with the church, they tell the stories of people who have been part of Nexø over the years.

Stop by Nexø Church as you explore the town, see its distinctive tower up close, and discover a place where several chapters of Nexø's history come together.
