Pilen - viewing platform Fehmarnbelt tunnel
Experience Pilen, where the long ramp and elevated viewpoint offer a fascinating look into one of Europe’s largest construction projects.

Pilen is a striking viewpoint that offers a unique opportunity to observe the construction of the Fehmarnbelt project up close.
The viewpoint consists of a 217-metre-long ramp leading you towards the area where the future tunnel will begin, and where both car and rail traffic will eventually descend into the 18-kilometre tunnel towards Puttgarden. At the far end, the ramp culminates in a distinctive tip rising 24 metres above the surrounding landscape, providing an impressive overview of the entire construction site.
The long ramp is designed as an open and accessible walkway, allowing visitors of all ages to move at their own pace and gain a clear sense of the project’s enormous scale. The further you walk, the more the landscape and construction activities unfold, and from the tip you have an unobstructed view of production areas, machinery, and the structures that will define the future fixed link.
Pilen serves as a calm and safe place to observe the ongoing work. It is an ideal stop for anyone interested in engineering, families, and curious travellers who want an easy-to-understand insight into how one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects is being built.
A visit to Pilen is free of charge and offers a fascinating look at the tunnel construction from the coast of Lolland, seen from one of the area’s most distinctive viewpoints.
You can also visit the exhibition centre and book a guided tour.
