The city of Nyborg is characteristic of its history as Denmark’s first capital and home to several reigns. The royal history is still clearly visible in the look of the town, and visitors can look forward to walk the new route around Nyborg Castle. The tour along the historic ramparts is a journey through time, through the fortress of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the dictatorship. A journey that goes through more than 800 years of history. Palisades, moats, bastions, barrages and gates.

The tour is 3.1 kilometers long and fully signposted. Follow the 'Crown' around the historic ramparts and immerse yourself in the exciting and surprising history at the 15 information stations along the route.

The route is made by Østfyns Museer, which has been voted Funen's best and Denmark's third best museum in 2023.
