Four Rooms for rent
Half an hour's' ferry ride from Assens on West Funen you will find the small island. Bågø is 6 km2 in size and has 18 residents (2017), a harbour kiosk, several summer houses and in addition many kilometres of fishing-friendly beaches.
Besides various school camp facilities, the nature centre comprises four Rooms of 25 m2 with own kitchen and bathroom/WC. The rooms lie in the new building from 2015 and are bright, with new furniture. There are 4 beds (sofa bed and bunk bed). The kitchen has crockery for 6 persons, refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven, two hotplates, electric kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The rooms are non-smoking area, and pets are not allowed. Price per apartment: 450 DKK/night + 200 DKK for departure cleaning.
You will have at your free disposal 1000 m2 of garden with a bonfire place. Free parking area for boat trailer, free Wi-Fi and outdoor fish cleaning table with sink. Waders can be dried in a drying cabinet in the main building. Please remember to ask for the code for the entrance when booking your stay.
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
The best fishing grounds are found along the south western coast of Bågø, close to the lighthouse and further up along the west side. On the north side you will find more excellent fishing grounds, where you will often have it all to yourself.
The nature center is not manned, but you can ask for assistance from the locals - e.g. Poul with "Grisevognen" (tractor with trailer for guided tours) phone: +45 64712527 and "Hestestalden" (Horse Stables), and Marianne at the harbour kiosk. The harbour kiost is open from the 1. of June to the 30. of August, here you can by your groceries.
If you want to experience the best fishing before sunrise, you should stay the night at Bågø.
