Sct. Nicolai Church
St. Nicolai Church in Rønne is a prominent landmark overlooking the harbour and town. With its rich history and central location, it forms an important part of the town’s identity and a natural place to visit.

History
The church lies close to the harbor and is dominant in the cityscape.
Skt. Nicolai church originates from 1275, and it is dedicated to Saint Nicolai. The church has been expanded and rebuilt several times, where it has been provided with towers and cross aisles. In 1915-18 the church was again restored and additionally provided with a typical bornholmish pulpit. The present church has had its appearance since the restoration which was completed in 1918 and is in its form a traditional cruciform church with a tower to the west. The beautiful baptismal font dates back to 1350 and is originally from Gotland.

Skt. Nicolai Church is located on the hill just above the harbor in Rønne. Skt. Nicolai church is one of the first things to see, when sailing to Bornholm and heading into Rønne.
