The exhibition From Sketch to Glass Mosaic - Sven Havsteen-Mikkelsen brings to life a total of 27 vibrant works displayed on the walls of Søbygaard's hall. These pieces serve as sketches for glass mosaics found in churches throughout the Nordic region; from Denmark to Greenland.
Immerse yourself in art history and a ocean of colors, shapes, and symbolism as the journey from sketch to glass mosaic reveals the significance of light on colors and the experience of art.
Artist Sven Havsteen-Mikkelsen lived and worked artistically on the island of Ærø until his death, and the exhibition unfolds aspects of Havsteen-Mikkelsen's life, artistic inspiration, and connection to Ærø.
The exhibition can be experienced during Søbygaard's opening hours but will be closed during special events.
