The Spirit of the Earth

The sculpture, The Spirit of the Earth, is made of soil and painted concrete by journalist and artist: Knud Seerup.

The occasion for the construction was European City of Culture 1996 in Copenhagen / Denmark.

The artist imagines that the earth contains a spirit that keeps an eye on whether we humans manage the entrusted heritage, the environment and the earth correctly.

The spirit is just about to break through the earth's crust.
