Take a trip to Frederik VII Høj in Silkeborg Vesterskov and enjoy the view of the Funder River Valley from a height of over 120 metres. The hill is named after Frederik VII, who visited the site in 1852.
Walking in Vesterskov
You can explore Frederik VII Høj as part of the Blue Walking Route, which is approximately 8 km long. The route takes you through varied woodland and past Knagerne, an old beech forest that has remained untouched since 1952.
Along the way, you can also explore the area’s history at the ‘In the Footsteps of the Past’ information points, where you’ll find stories about burial mounds, the Iron Age and royal hunts, amongst other things.
