Guided geology tours

Come along for a guided geology tour at the coast of the Juelsminde Peninsula. Learn more about the soil layers at the steep slopes and the many types of rocks that you can find at the beach.

Witness the dramatic coastline from a new perspective

The Juelsminde Peninsula offers a long and varied coastline, worth a visit for all nature lovers. What you may not realize while visiting the coast is the geological biodiversity at the coastal slopes.

Inga Sørensen is a geologist who offers guided tours where she shares her knowledge and provides insight into an exciting world that is unknown to most. During the tours you learn about the soil layers and the many different types of stones that you can find on the beach. You will hear how the stones were created and where they came from.

Inga also has a lot of knowledge about geothermal heat, and participants are welcome to visit her in her private home and see her two facilities in Glud.

14 GEO-tours in 2024

During 2024, seven tours will be arranged at seven geologically interesting locations at the Juelsminde Peninsula. All seven tours will also be held twice.

See the exciting slopes and views and enjoy the rocky beaches that contain a variety of impressive stones. Each stone has its own exciting story that spans millions of years. Some stones also contain remains of the animal life of the past in the shape of fossils and other organisms.

You can participate free of charge. At the above image you can see where each tour is held.

The GEO-tours of 2024 are scheduled based on tide times, as the optimal conditions are found at low tide.
