Sct. Jørgensbjerg

Sankt Jørgensbjerg is a charming historic neighbourhood in Roskilde, west of Copenhagen, where the area’s past as an old village can still be seen in its streets and houses. Set on hilly terrain, beautiful half-timbered houses surround Sankt Jørgensbjerg Church, while views of Roskilde Fjord and the nearby harbour make the area ideal for exploring on foot.

A village around the church

Just a few minutes away from central Roskilde is all you have to go to experience genuine Danish village atmosphere. Just a few hundred metres from Roskilde Cathedral is the cosy neighbourhood of Sct. Jorgensbjerg situated with narrow streets, neat half-timbered houses and hollyhocks of all conceivable colours. Sct. Jorgensbjerg is picture postcard idyll set on hilly ground overlooking Roskilde Fjord.

Continue towards the harbour

Explore the small streets on foot and combine your walk with Roskilde Harbour and views over the fjord. The ground is hilly. Respect residents and only enter courtyards and buildings where public access is permitted.
