Skarø ice cream's Bistro

Come and experience Skarø! The island of Skarø at the estuary of Svendborg and you can travel there by the same ferry that goes to Drejø. The island has about 21 inhabitants, who live there all yeah. Thanks to the frequent ferry departures from Svendborg, many people take advantage of a day trip to the island. A wonderful island day with nature worth every penny!  

Only 600 meters from the harbor you will find Skarø Ice´s cozy ice cream café and bistro. Here you can taste our organic ice cream produced from local ingredients. Skarø ice is Denmark´s only ice cream made from an archipelago.  

In the Bistro you will find light dishes made from ingredients from our own garden and locally grown specialties. We emphasize that our food is organic and from the best ingredients, that also tastes absolutely amazing. . You can for example choose our signature dish – the Skarø board. A tapa consisting of ingredients such as cheese and cold meat cuts from small local businesses.  

You have the opportunity to enjoy our delicious food in our lovely courtyard while enjoying the beautiful nature of the island.  

The café is open from June to August (school summer holidays) between 8.00 am to 22.00 pm. We are also open out of season (May, September, October) from 8.00 am to 20.00 pm, where you have the opportunity to buy ice cream and organic coffee/ tea.  

During your visit to Skarø ice cream, it’s possible to visit our Skarø Ice Museum. Here you have the opportunity to learn a little about the history of the island, as well as get an insight into how we produce our ice cream.
