Uhrehøje and Myrhøj Plantations
There are four marked hiking trails.Cycling route 118 has been constructed in order to improve access to the plantations. The route is about 13 km and follow smaller roads with little traffic and unpaved forest trails.
If you are lucky you might see a red deer. If not, fallow deer, badgers and foxes make the forest come alive.
There are more than 20 preserved burial mounds in the plantations and the view from these is magnificent. The burial mounds are from between 4000 and 500 BC and most of them have been used through generations for burials. The area has produced several finds such as pearls, axes and barrels – even though it has never been excavated.
